Australia Day In The City- The BIG Day Out

We had a celebratory breakkie- Bacon and cheese toasted sangas and oj with the neighbours- as other aussie day plans of barbie breakkies, lunch and teas were shelved once we got wind of Brothers3 in ADELAIDE!!!!

I mean- a bear has to have priorities right. ;)

Then we headed down to the local train station - nifty backpack transport i have there eh!

woohoo- the train finnnnnnnnnnnnnally arrived. My first ever train ride!!!!

Then a stroll down Rundle Mall checking out the buskers

Then my first Brothers 3 fan meet up.

We decided to grab some lunch and fuel up for the day

Then it was time to head down to Elder Park to stake out our possie!

I discovered even some of the security staff for the event love Brothers3

There was some filling in time before the day's sound check

Then the soundcheck started.
Out came Kaurna Cronin- a local S.A. lad

I met this lady- Mandy- she came for the whole concert experience- she told me she has been going to Australia Day concerts for years. During the whole afternoon she told me story after story about many local musicians - many who are now out and about the whole world. So glad i got to meet Mandy- she rocked!

Eventually- it got exciting- seeing Brothers 3 in the backstage area and then they came out.

Shardyn cracked a real funny one when he saw himself on the big screen.

Then a bit of waiting around

and oo-oo we got to meet Col

AND THEN.........

Brothers 3 were nice enough to come out

That was a bit exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then it was time to chill, explore Elder Park, meet more Brothers 3 fans and even make some friends.

and even have a bit of a kip- it was a lonnnnnnnng day!

Got to watch the Parade on the big screen- no way was i giving up my front row spot!
This guy and his group were terrific!

Kaurna Cronin played, there were some speeches, a 21 gun salute, rasing of the flag i thinkand a big cake was brought out.
And then  Brothers3 came out to strut their stuff for the first time in Adelaide- bet there were heaps of happy South Australian fans getting to see Brothers 3 live for the first ever time!
I even got my groove on eh!

I hear Sneaky Sound System and the Fireworks were way cool.
My host family had to leave after Brothers 3 played as we had a train to catch and it was back to school the day after the concert.
